A.P. Moller Capital agreed to acquire 100% of Mainstream Renewable Power South Africa from its parent company, Mainstream Renewable Power, through its Emerging Markets Infrastructure Fund II (EMIF II). The transaction covers Mainstream South Africa’s existing portfolio of 148 MW in operating and under-construction assets, alongside a development pipeline totaling 11.6 GW across solar, wind, and battery energy storage technologies. The company operates an integrated platform with in-house capabilities spanning development, energy trading, project delivery, asset management, and operations and maintenance, serving major South African industrial customers such as Sasol and Air Liquide. Following the acquisition, A.P. Moller Capital plans to expand Mainstream South Africa’s operating portfolio, enhance its energy trading activities, and accelerate the development of its project pipeline to meet growing power demand in South Africa. The deal remains subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, with no financial terms disclosed in the announcement.
