AAK makes equity investment in Savor and partners on sustainable fats
Type: Investment · Technology: Agriculture · Country: United States · Announced: 2026-07-21
AAK has made an equity investment in Savor, marking its second investment in the company, alongside a two-year collaboration to develop and commercialize specialty fat-based ingredient solutions for dairy alternatives and bakery applications. The partnership will combine Savor’s carbon-to-fat conversion platform with AAK’s formulation expertise and commercial infrastructure in plant-based oils and fats. Funds from a previous $32 million strategic funding round, in which AAK also participated, are being used by Savor to commercialize its production portfolio and build out its Batavia, Ill., production facility. Savor expects to scale its production from a couple tonnes of product per year to a couple hundred tonnes annually, leveraging AAK's global leadership to accelerate its path to large food manufacturers seeking supply chain resilience and ingredient innovation.
