Type: Partnership · Technology: Data Center · Country: Spain · Announced: 2026-08-11
Acciona has acquired a 50% stake in Ignis Data Epta, a joint venture created in 2024 by Ignis P2X and KKR, to co-develop a data center project in the province of Segovia, Spain. The facility will be powered by an adjacent photovoltaic plant designed to meet its electricity demand through renewable energy. Acciona aims to expand its data center portfolio to 2 GW capacity as part of this strategic move. Ignis Data Epta, which operates across multiple countries, integrates grid access, renewable generation, battery storage, long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs), and 24/7 energy management into its business model. The project leverages pre-secured grid connection permits managed by two of Ignis's subsidiaries, formalizing the joint development partnership between Acciona and Ignis.
