Acciona was awarded a contract on 23 July 2026 to construct the Clean Energy Link – North transmission project for Western Power. The contract includes 6 kilometres of 132 kV underground cable between Padbury Substation and Wangara Substation and 5 kilometres of 132 kV overhead line linking the Northern Terminal to Henley Brook Substation. Construction will commence in Western Australia on 23 July 2026 and is scheduled for completion by mid‑2027. The new lines will allow Perth consumers to tap additional solar generation and more than 1 GW of on‑shore wind capacity, supporting the state’s renewable energy goals.
