Acciona.org has been awarded a rural electric concession by the Peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mines to develop a photovoltaic system for 1,940 homes in the Loreto region. The project, known as Sistema Eléctrico Rural Fotovoltaico Loreto LCA21 and Loreto LCA22, will provide access to basic electricity services in 68 localities across the region. The concession was granted through Resolución Directoral Nº 0062-2026-MINEM/DGE, which was issued in July 2026. Acciona.org had requested the concession in November 2024, and the project has already obtained the necessary environmental impact declaration and has been classified as a rural electric system. The company will operate as a public electricity service provider under the Peruvian regulatory framework, and this is its first concession for a rural electric project based exclusively on photovoltaic systems. The project is part of the Luz en Casa and Luz en Casa Amazonía programs, which aim to provide electricity to rural areas in Peru.
