Acea has signed a protocol with the Governatorato dello Stato della Città del Vaticano, Amministrazione del Patrimonio della Sede Apostolica (Apsa), and the foundation “Fratello Sole” to develop an agrivoltaic plant at Santa Maria di Galeria, near Rome. The agreement, signed on June 10, outlines a joint path for the definition, structuring, and implementation of the plant. The foundation “Fratello Sole” was established by Pope Leo XIV to oversee the construction and financial management of the facility. This collaboration addresses the complex technical and management requirements of the plant, integrating energy, water, environmental, and agricultural components. The legal framework and implementation modalities are governed by an agreement between the Republic of Italy and the Holy See dated July 31, 2025.
