Type: Ppa · Technology: Storage · Country: India · Capacity: 150 MW · Announced: 2026-06-03

Advait Energy Transitions Ltd. (AETL), through its subsidiary Advait BESS Bhesaan, signed a battery energy storage purchase agreement (BESPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) for a 150 MW/300 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Gujarat. The project, secured via GUVNL’s tariff-based competitive bidding process under Phase VIII with viability gap funding (VGF) from the Power System Development Fund (PSDF), will be developed near the 220 kV Bhesan AIS substation of Gujarat Energy Transmission Corp. (GETCO). Under the 12-year agreement, Advait BESS Bhesaan will develop, own, and operate the project, providing long-term dispatchable storage capacity to support Gujarat’s grid resilience and renewable energy integration. The initiative aligns with Advait Energy Transitions’ expansion into energy transition infrastructure, complementing its existing capabilities in transmission infrastructure, green hydrogen, and renewable energy integration. Vatsal Kundalia, Director of Operations at Advait Energy Transitions Ltd., emphasized the project’s role in building scalable energy transition infrastructure for India’s clean energy future.
