Aether Infrastructure consortium to develop two AI gigafactories in Strasbourg, France with 42MW initial capacity

Type: Partnership · Technology: Data Center · Country: France · Capacity: 42 MW · Announced: 2026-07-09

Aether Infrastructure, a European consortium led by SiPearl, 2CRSi, Nhood, and Dassault Systems, is forming a partnership to develop two AI gigafactories in the Strasbourg region of France. The consortium is in advanced negotiations to acquire two brownfield industrial sites (FR-SXB1 and FR-SXB2) with grid connections and permits already secured, targeting a combined initial capacity of 42MW. The first site (FR-SXB1) is expected to close by October 2026 with operations starting in 2027, while the second site (FR-SXB2) will follow by year-end. Aether plans to scale the facilities to 400MW ultimately, submitting proposals to French grid operator RTE for an additional 40MW by 2028. The project aligns AI infrastructure growth with Europe's energy transition, combining SiPearl's high-performance processors with Axelera AI's accelerators in 2CRSi's servers to deliver sovereign AI capabilities.
