AGR partners with Star Matrix to onboard Aquaman II vessel for North Sea offshore operations
Type: Partnership · Technology: Oil Gas · Country: United Kingdom · Announced: 2026-05-05
AGR, a multidisciplinary consultancy, entered into a partnership agreement with Star Matrix to onboard the offshore support vessel Aquaman II for operations in the North Sea. The vessel will be configured as a light construction anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel to support subsea and offshore campaigns, including plug and abandonment (P&A) and decommissioning work. Aquaman II is equipped with a work-class remotely operated vehicle, subsea systems, and an active heave compensation system, retaining towing and anchor-handling capabilities. Built in 2005, the vessel features a 755 square meter deck area and a 2,100-tonne deck cargo capacity. AGR stated that the addition strengthens its marine spread amid increasing activity in vessel-based subsea operations, cable campaigns, and decommissioning in Northern Europe.
