Type: Financing · Technology: Hybrid · Country: United Kingdom · Capacity: 310 MW · Announced: 2026-05-27
Renewables infrastructure firm AGR Renewables has closed financing on a 310MW/250MWh portfolio of UK solar-plus-storage projects. The five projects are currently under construction in Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, and Hertfordshire, and are expected to be operational in 2026/27. Senior debt financing for these projects was led by German infrastructure investment bank BayernLB. AGR Renewables is backed by RailPen, the £34 billion pension fund for the UK rail sector, which sees this funding as supporting its construction pipeline and future expansion in large-scale co-located solar and storage infrastructure. The 310MW of solar projects are contracted under the government’s Contracts for Difference (CfD) scheme and corporate power purchase agreements (PPA).
