Alcazar Energy Partners has signed acquisition terms to acquire the 580 MW Gabal El Zeit wind project in Egypt's Red Sea Governorate. The portfolio consists of three operational wind farms, each equipped with Siemens Gamesa turbines, which have been in operation for eight to ten years. Alcazar Energy Partners will assume operational responsibility, extend the assets' operating life, and sell electricity to the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company under a 25-year power purchase agreement. This transaction is part of Egypt's privatization program and marks the first strategic renewable energy asset offered under a framework to increase private sector participation in the electricity market.
