Alluvial Power brings 150MW Kansas solar project online with Sunflower Electric Power Corporation under long-term PPA

Type: Ppa · Technology: Solar · Country: United States · Capacity: 150 MWac · Announced: 2026-06-17

Independent power producer Alluvial Power announced the commercial operations of its 150MWac Boot Hill Solar project in Ford County, Kansas, with electricity output contracted to Sunflower Electric Power Corporation under a long-term power purchase agreement. The project is expected to generate nearly 400,000MWh of electricity annually, meeting approximately 9% of Sunflower’s current system energy demand. Boot Hill Solar will provide on-peak capacity during high-demand summer periods, particularly in the Dodge City area where grid stress typically intensifies. Sunflower, a not-for-profit electric generation and transmission utility, serves seven member utilities across central and western Kansas. The project supports system reliability and wholesale price stability while diversifying Sunflower’s generation mix as part of Alluvial’s broader US energy transition pipeline.
