Alpiq acquires 90% stake in battery storage developer Harmony Energy

Swiss electricity producer Alpiq has acquired a 90% stake in UK-based renewable energy and battery storage developer Harmony Energy. This acquisition adds approximately 400 MW of assets under construction to Alpiq's European battery energy storage systems (BESS) footprint. The deal strengthens Alpiq's asset base and commercial capabilities, expanding its presence across the entire BESS value chain. Harmony Energy specializes in utility-scale BESS projects in the UK, Germany, France, and Poland, supporting grid stability and renewable energy integration.
