Alsym Energy and ERITY sign 9 GWh Strategic Relationship Agreement to deploy sodium-ion battery energy storage systems for mining sector
Type: Partnership · Technology: Storage · Country: Tanzania, Saudi Arabia, Finland, United States · Announced: 2026-07-10
Alsym Energy and ERITY signed a 9 GWh Strategic Relationship Agreement to jointly deploy sodium-ion battery energy storage systems (BESS) for the mining sector. Alsym’s Na-Series sodium-ion batteries, which are non-flammable and low-cost, will be deployed in existing operations and new projects run by Volt Resources and Resource Minerals International in Tanzania, Saudi Arabia, Finland, and the US. The agreement covers multiple applications including round-the-clock micro-grid power for mining operations, power for critical mineral extraction and processing, onsite data centers for real-time geologic data processing, electrified mining and hauling equipment, and mobile BESS deployments. Alsym’s Na-Series cells can be safely stored and transported at 0% state of charge, supporting mobile use cases, and eliminate thermal runaway while operating across a wide temperature range without HVAC systems. ERITY, an integrated services organization supporting mining, resources, and energy sectors, will collaborate with Alsym to address energy challenges in remote mining operations where traditional power infrastructure is limited.
