Amarenco has secured financial close with Société Générale for its 100 MW Osmo battery storage project in France, marking a material step in the project's development. The Osmo project, located between Os-Marsillon and Mourenx in the Lacq industrial basin, will provide two hours of storage capacity. This battery system is designed to offer multiple services to the French transmission system operator RTE, including participation in the capacity market to meet peak electricity demand, especially during winter, and primary and secondary reserve services for grid stability. The project is being developed on a former industrial site, leveraging existing infrastructure and an optimized grid connection. This initiative follows the commissioning and repowering of Amarenco's 105 MW Claudia battery storage project, reinforcing its strategy to expand battery energy storage across France and other European countries.
