Amazon Data Services acquires office and data center site in Maryland from T. Rowe Price Group in $15.2 million sale-leaseback deal
Type: Sale · Technology: Data Center · Country: United States · Value: $15.2M · Announced: 2026-05-05
Amazon Data Services acquired a nine-acre property at 11550 Cronridge Drive in Owings Mills, Maryland, from T. Rowe Price Group for $15.2 million in a sale-leaseback transaction. The site includes 111,000 sq ft of office space and a 55,000 sq ft data center facility with 20,000 sq ft of white space, according to Bala case studies. T. Rowe Price signed a sale-leaseback agreement allowing it to continue operating the facility while evaluating future real estate needs. Amazon confirmed the purchase but stated it has no plans to build additional data centers on the property, despite the site's existing data center infrastructure. The transaction follows Amazon's enterprise data center sale-leaseback program and aligns with T. Rowe Price's ongoing migration of on-premises workloads to AWS as part of its data center exit strategy.
