Anthropic signs compute capacity agreement with SpaceX for Colossus 1 data center

Anthropic agreed to a partnership with SpaceX to utilize the full compute capacity of SpaceX's Colossus 1 data center, providing over 300 megawatts of new capacity—equivalent to more than 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs—within a month. The Colossus 1 facility, located in Texas, will directly enhance capacity for Anthropic's Claude Pro and Claude Max subscribers. This deal follows Anthropic's broader strategy to expand compute infrastructure, including agreements with Amazon, Google, Broadcom, Microsoft, and NVIDIA. The partnership also includes an expression of interest to develop multiple gigawatts of orbital AI compute capacity with SpaceX. No financial terms were disclosed for the Colossus 1 agreement.
