Antin Infrastructure Partners sells a 30% minority stake in Norwegian wellboat operator Sølvtrans to GLIL Infrastructure
Type: Sale · Technology: Agriculture · Country: Norway · Announced: 2026-07-29
Antin Infrastructure Partners agreed to sell a 30 percent minority stake in Sølvtrans to the UK‑based GLIL Infrastructure fund, marking a new equity transaction for the Norwegian wellboat operator. The transaction keeps Antin as the majority shareholder alongside founder Roger Halsebakk and his family, while GLIL brings its collaborative pension‑fund backing to support global expansion. Sølvtrans, the world’s leading provider of mission‑critical wellboats for aquaculture, currently operates 48 vessels and has nine wellboats serving customers in Scotland, with eight more under construction. The deal aligns with the rapid growth of the aquaculture sector, which is seen as a low‑carbon source of protein and a key component of food‑security infrastructure. GLIL will apply its active asset‑management expertise to accelerate Sølvtrans’ entry into new geographies such as Canada, Iceland and New Zealand.
