Anubhav Agarwal Group (AAG) announced a INR 78 billion investment to develop a 12 GW integrated solar ingot and wafer manufacturing facility in the Orvakal Industrial Area of Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. The project, led by Agastya Green Energy Ltd, will create over 3,500 jobs and strengthen India's domestic solar manufacturing capabilities. The facility will have 12 GW each of ingot and wafer manufacturing capacity, complementing Agastya Energy's planned 5 GW solar cell and module manufacturing capacity in two phases. Anubhav Agarwal, Chairman of AAG, stated that the investment reflects long-term confidence in India's energy transition and commitment to building globally competitive solar manufacturing at scale. Piyush Bichhoriya, Director of Agastya Energy, highlighted that the expansion marks a critical upstream pillar of the company's integrated solar manufacturing strategy, deepening its presence across the solar ecosystem. The project aligns with India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's efforts to expand the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) framework to include ingots and wafers, effective June 1, 2028.
