Industrial decarbonization-focused private equity investor Ara Partners agreed to invest up to $500 million in Sedron Technologies, a Washington-based provider of circular waste management solutions. The investment will accelerate Sedron’s project development pipeline and expand its manufacturing and deployment capabilities across North America, including the construction of a new biosolids upcycling facility in Indiantown, Florida, in partnership with Synagro. Sedron’s Varcor technology processes wastewater biosolids and agricultural manure into purified water, renewable energy, and carbon-negative commodities, targeting municipal and agricultural waste streams. The company is also commissioning a project on a 10,000-cow dairy in Wisconsin, with commercial operations expected to start in summer 2026. Ara Partners highlighted Sedron’s ability to convert waste into revenue-generating products while reducing methane emissions and nutrient runoff, positioning the company as a leader in circular waste management. The deal underscores Ara’s focus on scaling decarbonization solutions in hard-to-abate sectors.
