Panama's ASEP granted provisional licenses for two solar projects: Las Uvas Solar's Emperador Solar 2 (9.90 MWac, 12.50 MWdc) in Panama Oeste and Solar Power Assets II's Mata de Nance Solar 2 (9 MWac, 12.20 MWdc) in Chiriquí. The combined 18.9 MWac projects will use 38,768 photovoltaic modules across corregimientos Nuevo Emperador and Las Lomas. Both licenses were modified and extended, with Mata de Nance Solar 2's capacity adjusted from 9.60 MWac to 9 MWac using Huawei inverters, and Emperador Solar 2 receiving its first provisional authorization. Both developers must submit documentation for definitive licenses within twelve months, including land accreditation, connection details to the National Interconnected System, and quarterly progress reports. The resolutions require EPC investment declarations and construction timelines before commercial operation can commence.
