Assaí Atacadista signs 15-year solar self-production contract with BCP Global and European Energy for 25 MW average capacity
Type: Ppa · Technology: Solar · Country: Brazil · Capacity: 25 MW · Announced: 2026-06-01
Assaí Atacadista entered into a 15-year self-production contract with BCP Global and European Energy to meet 48% of its total electricity consumption starting January 2028. The agreement involves the supply of 25 MW average (MWm) of energy from the Boa Hora solar plant, currently under development in Tacaimbó, Pernambuco. This initiative, approved by Cade, aims to increase cost predictability and strengthen energy supply security for Assaí's over 310 stores across 24 states and the Federal District. The operation is structured as an 'autoprodução por equiparação' model, allowing large consumers to participate in renewable energy generation. The project, developed by European Energy, will integrate into Assaí's energy portfolio, expanding corporate solar energy contracts in Brazil.
