Australian Premium Solar secures 16 MW rooftop solar EPC contract with South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited under PM Surya Ghar-Muft Bijli Yojana

Australian Premium Solar, an India-based solar developer, secured a Letter of Award from South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) to install 16 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects across GAYA Circle in Bihar. The contract, awarded under the CAPEX plus RESCO mode Utility-Led Aggregation Model of India's PM Surya Ghar-Muft Bijli Yojana scheme, covers 14,185 consumers with each rooftop plant sized at 1.1 kW. The deal includes INR 68 Crore (~$7.48 million) in CAPEX received in the first year, followed by annual payments of INR 9 Crore (~$0.99 million) over the next decade. Australian Premium Solar emphasized that the transaction excludes promoter-group interests or related-party dealings, positioning it as a standalone commercial agreement. The project will expand the company's customer base while contributing to its profitability through long-term revenue streams.
