AVK launches AVK Capital funding arm to own and operate onsite power infrastructure for data center customers

Type: Investment · Technology: Gas · Country: Ireland · Capacity: 110 MW · Value: $1B · Announced: 2026-09-15

AVK, an on-site power generation developer for the data center sector, launched AVK Capital, a dedicated funding entity backed by a $1 billion equity investment from Swiss private equity firm Partners Group. Under the new model, AVK Capital will fund and own on-site power infrastructure, delivering it to data center customers via long-term Power Purchase Agreements. The company highlighted its AVK PowerPod system and a 2GW pipeline, recently launching its first microgrid - an 110MW on-site natural gas microgrid at a PureDC data center campus in Dublin, Ireland, billed as Europe's first large-scale microgrid. Energy Centre 1 and 2 are slated to be fully operational by the end of 2026, with Energy Centre 3 to follow at a later stage, addressing the critical power constraint facing data center development in Europe.
