Azur Datacenter to acquire HRS hydrogen facility in Champagnier, France for data centre conversion

Azur Datacenter signed a preliminary agreement to acquire the headquarters of hydrogen infrastructure maker HRS in Champagnier, France, for an investment of €360 million ($420 million). The 14,100 sqm site, which currently houses HRS’s offices and hydrogen refueling equipment production, will be converted into a data centre. The transaction includes a lease‑back arrangement valued between €22 million and €25 million, allowing HRS to remain on‑site under a long‑term lease while Azur proceeds with the build‑out. The deal is slated to close by the end of 2026, subject to a building permit and ICPE environmental approvals. This acquisition aligns with Azur’s strategy of retrofitting existing industrial buildings into data centres, expanding its French portfolio that already includes four sites. Azur is a subsidiary of the Arago Technologie group, which is listed as the parent company in the transaction.
