Type: Investment · Technology: Data Center · Country: Canada · Capacity: 1.2 GW · Value: $5B · Announced: 2026-09-15
BCE Inc. plans to invest up to $5 billion to quadruple the capacity of its data center operations in Saskatchewan, aiming to provide 1.2 gigawatts of compute power across three new facilities. The expansion, proposed through a non-binding memorandum of understanding with the province, will build on the company's current 300-megawatt project under construction in the rural municipality of Sherwood, near Regina. Bell will construct the physical facilities and arrange for power and internet connections, while commercial partners will provide the compute technology. The company is in advanced discussions with potential partners for some of the capacity and expects to start building incrementally on sites around Sherwood as soon as it has the necessary local permits.
