BnM signs 126MW wind farm PPA with Amazon for Derrinlough project in Ireland

BnM officially opened its 126MW Derrinlough Wind Farm in Offaly, Ireland, marking a €150 million investment that includes a corporate power purchase agreement with Amazon. The project features 21 Vestas V150-6.0MW turbines installed across Clongawny and Drinagh bogs, with construction completed to support Ireland's renewable energy expansion goals. The wind farm will supply carbon-free electricity to Amazon's operations in the region, enhancing grid resilience and energy security for the tech giant's Irish data centers. A €12 million community benefit fund has been established, with €467,000 already committed to 22 local projects, seven scholarships, and near-neighbor electricity bill contributions. Irish Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment Darragh O'Brien inaugurated the facility, emphasizing its role in advancing Ireland's climate targets and renewable energy infrastructure.
