BNZ signs supply agreement with Sungrow for 240 MWh of battery storage for Italian solar projects

Type: Supply Agreement · Technology: Storage · Country: Italy · Capacity: 240 MWh · Announced: 2026-07-21

BNZ signed a strategic supply agreement with Sungrow to provide 240 MWh of battery storage for its Rinaldone (45 MW) and Camposcala (53 MW) photovoltaic plants in Viterbo, Lazio. The agreement covers full battery packs, power conversion systems, medium‑voltage equipment, commissioning, acceptance testing, technical training and an EMS from a third‑party provider. The storage will hybridise the two solar farms, which are scheduled to be operational in 2025, enabling flexibility services for the Italian grid. The deal supports BNZ’s broader European storage rollout of 850 MW, of which 530 MW is already under development. A long‑term service agreement adds extended warranties, preventive maintenance and remote monitoring to reduce operational risk.
