Type: Supply Agreement · Technology: Hybrid · Country: India · Capacity: 250 MW · Value: $141M · Announced: 2026-06-17

Hyderabad-based EPC firm Bondada Engineering secured a INR13.38 billion (USD 141 million) engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) for a 250MW solar PV project coupled with a 50MW/200MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Uttar Pradesh. The project, located in Sitapur district, was awarded through a Notification of Award (NOA) and is scheduled to be completed within 18 months. The solar-plus-storage facility forms part of NTPC REL’s efforts to expand utility-scale renewable energy capacity integrated with energy storage. The award increases Bondada Engineering’s solar EPC order book to approximately 5.5GWp and its BESS order book to around 1.1GWh. Solar-plus-storage projects are gaining momentum in India as developers and state utilities seek to improve grid stability and support dispatchable renewable energy generation.
