Boskalis awarded contract to install inter-array cables at Zeevonk Offshore Wind Farm

Type: Supply Agreement · Technology: Offshore Wind · Country: Netherlands · Capacity: 2 GW · Announced: 2026-10-01

Boskalis was awarded a contract by Zeevonk to transport and install about 149 kilometres of 66 kV inter-array cables connecting 69 wind turbines for the first phase of the Zeevonk Offshore Wind Farm, in a deal valued between $58 million and $174 million. The project is located about 45 nautical miles northwest of IJmuiden in the Dutch North Sea and the contract covers cable testing and termination, installation of cable protection systems, survey and seabed intervention work. Cables will be transported from a manufacturing facility in Eemshaven and installed using Boskalis' cable-laying vessel BOKA Ocean, with a subsea rock installation vessel deployed for seabed intervention; engineering is due to start shortly and offshore installation is planned for 2029. Zeevonk is a joint venture between Vattenfall and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and the wider development is planned to have around 2 GW of installed capacity across two ~1 GW phases, with commercial operations for the first phase planned for 2029. The award strengthens Boskalis' offshore wind operations in Europe and secures a major export and installation scope for assets manufactured in Eemshaven ahead of the 2029 installation campaign.
