BW Ideol and NGE sign exclusive partnership to develop Fos3F floating wind foundation fabrication line in France

Type: Partnership · Technology: Offshore Wind · Country: France · Capacity: 500 MW · Announced: 2026-07-23

BW Ideol and French construction group NGE signed an exclusive partnership agreement on 23 July 2026 to jointly develop the Fos3F project. The project will create a serial fabrication line in Fos‑sur‑Mer on the DEOS platform at the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille, targeting the production of about 30 floating wind foundations per year. This capacity corresponds to roughly 500 MW of floating offshore wind capacity annually, supporting France’s AO10 tender which aims for over 5 GW of floating wind, including 3.7 GW on the Mediterranean coast. The collaboration leverages BW Ideol’s floating wind expertise and NGE’s civil‑engineering capabilities to build a sovereign French supply chain using locally sourced materials. The partnership is expected to generate more than 1,300 direct jobs in the Provence‑Alpes‑Côte d’Azur region and underpins the delivery of over 200 floating foundations between 2030 and 2037. The deal follows a prior €126 million public funding package, comprising a €74 million EU Innovation Fund grant and a €52 million green industry tax credit.
