Cadeler acquires Menck for €501 million to strengthen offshore wind installation capabilities

Type: Acquisition · Technology: Offshore Wind · Country: Denmark · Value: EUR 501M · Announced: 2026-08-12

Cadeler A/S, a leading offshore wind installation contractor, completed the acquisition of Menck, a specialist provider of offshore foundation installation equipment, for an enterprise valuation of €501 million. The transaction was signed and closed simultaneously following regulatory approvals, marking a strategic move to enhance Cadeler's offshore wind installation capabilities. Menck, with over 150 years of engineering expertise, brings specialized technology including hydraulic impact hammers, noise mitigation systems, and drilling solutions to the partnership. Cadeler intends to operate Menck as a standalone business, preserving its independent market position while integrating its offshore installation fleet with Menck's foundation installation capabilities. The acquisition strengthens Cadeler's ability to support large-scale offshore wind projects, including the upcoming first-of-its-kind next-generation Wind Hammer expected in early 2027. Mikkel Gleerup, CEO of Cadeler, highlighted the complementary strengths of both companies in addressing the increasing scale and technical complexity of offshore wind projects.
