Cadeler takes delivery of Wind Ace offshore wind installation vessel
Type: Sale · Technology: Offshore Wind · Country: Denmark · Announced: 2026-07-17
Cadeler received the Wind Ace vessel from COSCO Shipping Offshore, marking the delivery of its eleventh wind installation ship and the second of three new A‑class builds. The vessel was constructed at COSCO's shipyard in Qidong, China, completing over 3.5 million working hours without lost‑time accidents. Wind Ace will be mobilised to support ScottishPower Renewables’ 960 MW East Anglia 2 offshore wind farm in the United Kingdom, installing both XXL monopile foundations and next‑generation turbine generators. The acquisition expands Cadeler’s fleet to meet growing turbine and foundation sizes, reinforcing its role as a full‑scope installation partner. The delivery was announced on 17 July 2026, confirming the project stayed on schedule and within budget.
