Canary Wharf Group signs 10-year PPA with ENGIE for British Solar Renewables' 50 MW Knowl Green solar project

Canary Wharf Group has signed a 10-year power purchase agreement with ENGIE for electricity from British Solar Renewables' 50 MW Knowl Green solar project in the UK. ENGIE will structure and manage the electricity supply, which is expected to cover approximately 40% of CWG's current consumption. The agreement will provide long-term price certainty and support the development and operation of the solar farm. British Solar Renewables will retain ownership of Knowl Green as part of its independent power producer portfolio. The project has full planning consent and a grid connection in place. Once operational, Knowl Green is expected to generate approximately 54 GWh annually, equivalent to the electricity consumption of around 12,500 UK homes, and avoid approximately 11,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
