Carrefour Brasil signs solar deployment contract with GreenYellow for 54 stores
Type: Partnership · Technology: Solar · Country: Brazil · Capacity: 38 MW · Announced: 2026-06-29
Carrefour Brasil signed a contract with GreenYellow to install photovoltaic solar systems on the roofs of 54 of its stores in Brazil. The installations will total more than 38 MWc of capacity and are expected to generate about 56 GWh of electricity per year, covering roughly 30 % of the stores’ electricity demand. The project will be delivered under an Energy‑as‑a‑Service model, with GreenYellow handling design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance without any upfront CAPEX for Carrefour Brasil. By self‑consuming the solar power, Carrefour aims to improve consumption predictability, increase energy autonomy and avoid over 2 000 t of CO₂ emissions annually, equivalent to planting 10 000 trees. GreenYellow will retain ownership of the PV assets for the contract duration, providing a turnkey solution that aligns with Carrefour’s sustainability targets.
