CATL to supply battery energy storage hardware for Edify Energy's 2.4 GWh Queensland projects

Chinese battery manufacturer CATL has been awarded a supply contract to provide battery energy storage hardware for Edify Energy’s Smoky Creek and Guthrie’s Gap projects in central Queensland. The projects will feature a combined 600 MW / 2,400 MWh of storage capacity, utilizing CATL's advanced energy storage solutions integrated with cutting-edge grid-forming inverters. These two independent 300 MW solar generating units and 300 MW / 1,200 MWh battery energy storage systems will form one of Australia's most material renewable energy developments. The projects are targeting delivery and operations in 2028, aiming to generate up to 1,589,000 MWh of renewable energy annually.
