CEFC and Infradebt launch A$100 million financing programme for mid-scale renewables in Australia

Type: Financing · Technology: Hybrid · Country: Australia · Announced: 2026-08-03

The Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) has committed A$100 million (US$70.1 million) to a new financing initiative with Infradebt, named the Distribution Connected Accelerator Programme (DCAP). This program is designed to accelerate the development of mid-scale renewable energy projects across Australia, focusing on distribution-connected projects of up to 5 MW. The initiative aims to support the development of up to 16 hybrid solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, including battery retrofits. The DCAP will provide concessional senior debt to address financing challenges for smaller renewable energy projects, enabling developers to utilize existing network capacity and reduce transmission constraint delays. Projects supported by the program are expected to begin construction in 2027.
