Centuria Industrial REIT (CIP), a subsidiary of Centuria Capital Group, announced plans to develop over 250MW of data center capacity across Australia. The company currently owns three data center sites, two of which are expandable, and has filed power applications for three industrial properties identified as potential data center development projects. Jesse Curtis, Centuria's head of funds management, highlighted the company's strategic focus on Australia's rapidly growing data center market, driven by digital transformation and AI adoption. CIP acquired a Telstra data center in Melbourne in 2020 and plans to build a new 40MW facility at the site, expected to go live in 2029. Additionally, Centuria owns a Fujitsu-occupied data center in Perth and the Wellcamp Data Centre in Toowoomba, Queensland, which offers 2.5MW with expansion potential on a 5.7-hectare site.
