Certas Energy supplies HVO fuel to DP World’s Low Carbon Truck Programme

Certas Energy entered a supply agreement with DP World to provide hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) fuel for the Low Carbon Truck Programme at the London Gateway and Southampton ports. The agreement allows qualifying trucks to receive up to 5,000 litres of HVO per vehicle per port, with Certas having already allocated 1,346,000 litres to 378 HGVs across 33 customers in the first three quarters. The programme, slated to run from 2027, targets at least 500 HVO‑powered trucks, delivering fuel that reduces CO2 emissions by up to 90 % compared with diesel. By delivering renewable waste‑derived fuel, the deal supports DP World’s goal to cut scope‑3 emissions and creates a pathway toward fully electric heavy‑goods vehicles. The supply can be delivered either by bulk tanker to operator yards or via Certas’s fuel card network at UK refuelling stations.
