Certas Energy to supply 2,000 litres of HVO to power shuttle buses at Hillhead exhibition

Certas Energy, the UK’s leading independent fuel distributor, will supply approximately 2,000 litres of its Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) to power the official shuttle buses at the Hillhead quarrying, construction, and recycling exhibition from June 23rd to 25th, 2026. This supply agreement aims to reduce life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90% compared to standard diesel, potentially cutting emissions by up to 5,164KG of CO2e over the three-day event. The HVO will transport up to 20,000 attendees to and from the Hillhead Quarry site in Buxton. This initiative highlights the role of lower-carbon fuels in reducing the environmental impact of large-scale events and supports the construction sector's transition to more sustainable energy solutions.
