CGS Solarmex I received conditional environmental authorization from Mexico's Dirección General de Impacto y Riesgo Ambiental (DGIRA) for the CGS PV 02 solar project, a 110.015 MW (89 MW AC) photovoltaic plant in Ojocaliente, Zacatecas. The project includes 159,442 solar modules, tracking systems, inverters, 18 transformation centers, and a battery storage area, with energy evacuation via a 115 kV transmission line spanning 9.757 km connecting to CFE's Ojo Caliente substation. The development requires 259.1513 hectares across 13 polygons, with 35.7123 hectares needing forest vegetation removal, necessitating prior forest land use change approval. DGIRA imposed 18-month construction and 30-year operation timelines, alongside environmental mitigation measures including flora rescue programs, reforestation, water management, and wildlife protection initiatives.
