Type: Supply Agreement · Technology: Transport · Country: United States · Announced: 2026-09-01

ChargePoint and Eaton have been awarded a supply agreement to provide EV charging infrastructure for Big Blue Bus, Santa Monica’s public transit agency, as part of the city’s $56-million investment to transition to a fully zero-emission fleet by 2032. The project involves deploying 130 DC fast charging ports using ChargePoint’s Express Plus line of equipment, alongside Eaton’s medium-voltage switchgear, switchboards, and panelboards for electrical infrastructure. Eaton will also supply energy management solutions to optimize grid integration and operational efficiency. ChargePoint highlighted this as one of its largest transit deployments to date, emphasizing the scalability of its high-power charging solutions for large bus fleets. The initiative aligns with Santa Monica’s goal of reducing emissions, improving air quality, and enhancing rider experience through quieter, more efficient electric buses.
