Chevron Australia entered a five-year natural gas supply agreement with Alinta Energy, committing to deliver 46 petajoules of gas from its Western Australian portfolio starting July 2027. The supply will originate from Chevron's equity interests in the Gorgon, Wheatstone facilities, and the North West Shelf Project, which together account for approximately 40% of Western Australia's domestic gas supply. The deal reinforces a partnership between Chevron and Alinta Energy that spans over four decades, with Alinta being one of Western Australia's largest gas retailers. Balaji Krishnamurthy, Chevron Australia's President, emphasized the role of natural gas in powering electricity generation and supporting the state's mining sector. The agreement aligns with Western Australia's domestic gas policy, ensuring continued energy security for homes, businesses, and industries.
