Chint Solar Sells German BESS Portfolio to Second Foundation

Chint Solar Europe has completed the sale of a 56 MW / 180 MWh battery energy storage portfolio in Germany to Second Foundation. The portfolio consists of five standalone battery storage projects located across Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Brandenburg. The transaction includes the transfer of project rights, a turnkey EPC solution, and operations and maintenance services provided by Chint Solar. The projects were fully developed by Chint Solar and are scheduled to connect to the medium-voltage network between Q2 2026 and Q3 2027, with the first projects already under construction. This transaction, structured as a forward COD deal, represents a unique transaction model in the German BESS market, combining Chint Solar Europe's development expertise with Second Foundation's energy trading and asset management capabilities.
