Type: Financing · Technology: Storage · Country: United Kingdom · Capacity: 157 MW · Announced: 2026-09-15
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, through its Green Credit Fund II (GCF II), provided a £100 million ($135 million) unitranche financing facility to support the construction of a U.K. battery energy storage system portfolio developed by Constantine Energy. The portfolio includes two BESS projects with a combined capacity of 157 megawatts/461 megawatt-hours. CIP's credit strategy targets greenfield and brownfield projects in wind, solar photovoltaic, biomass, storage, and transmission assets across Europe, North America, and selective Asia Pacific jurisdictions. With GCF II already having reached first close, raising €1.3 billion ($1.5 billion) in committed capital, the financing represents an attractive opportunity to deploy critical energy storage infrastructure while delivering large-scale clean energy solutions to the market.
