Constellation Energy agreed to acquire a 609-MW natural gas-fired power plant in Rhode Island from Shell, expanding its ISO New England portfolio. The transaction includes the facility and associated infrastructure, strengthening Constellation's position in the regional grid. Shell separately acquired a 169-MW Pennsylvania gas portfolio to grow its PJM Interconnection position. The Rhode Island plant acquisition represents a material asset addition for Constellation's generation mix in the New England market.
