Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners secured $510 million of debt financing for the 420 MWdc La Esperanza Solar project in Campeche, Mexico. The financing package was provided by BNP Paribas, JPMorgan Chase Bank, Natixis CIB, Santander and Scotiabank. The project also includes a 150 MW/750 MWh battery energy storage system to support grid stability. Construction has begun and commercial operation is targeted for 2028, strengthening the Yucatán Peninsula’s power reliability. The deal reflects CIP’s strategy to expand renewable infrastructure in emerging markets and was announced as the project reached financial close.
