Corsica Sole secures €30 million financing for its first standalone stationary battery storage plant in mainland France

Type: Financing · Technology: Storage · Country: France · Capacity: 50 MW · Value: EUR 30M · Announced: 2026-05-05

Corsica Sole secured €30 million in long-term, non-recourse bank financing from Bpifrance and Crédit Coopératif for its 50 MW/100 MWh stationary battery storage project in Beuvry and Labourse, Hauts-de-France. This financing, partly backed by secured revenues, supports the development of standalone storage infrastructure in France. The facility, located on a former coal power plant site, is scheduled for commissioning in early 2027 and will be directly connected to RTE's electricity transmission network. It will provide essential grid balancing services and participate in electricity markets, enhancing the flexibility and resilience of the energy system. The project's revenues are partly secured by an aggregation contract with Agregio Solutions.
