Cube Infrastructure to sell Firstcolo to CVC DIF
Type: Sale · Technology: Data Center · Country: Germany · Announced: 2026-08-14
Cube Infrastructure agreed to sell Firstcolo, a Frankfurt-based colocation data center operator, to CVC DIF in a deal driven by surging demand for AI infrastructure. Firstcolo operates multiple high-density data centers in Germany, serving hyperscale cloud providers and enterprise clients with critical connectivity and cloud services. The transaction reflects broader market consolidation as private equity firms target data center assets amid explosive growth in AI workloads and digital transformation initiatives. CVC DIF, a specialist infrastructure investor, will acquire the platform to expand its European data center portfolio, which already includes assets in France, Spain, and the Netherlands. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, and the sale is expected to close in Q4 2026 subject to regulatory approvals. Cube Infrastructure, which acquired Firstcolo in 2022, will retain a minority stake in the business post-transaction.
