APAC data center operator DayOne closed a $4.5 billion Series C equity financing round led by existing investors Coatue and Hillhouse Capital, which now hold majority stakes in the company. The round also included new participation from the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) and Achi Capital Partners, marking a material capital infusion ahead of DayOne's rumored IPO. The funding will accelerate expansions in key markets including Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia (Johor), Indonesia (Batam), Japan (Tokyo), Thailand, Finland, and Spain, where the company recently hired former AWS and Data4 director Juan Carlos Vaamonde as general manager. DayOne's portfolio now includes over 500MW of operational and under-construction data center capacity, with an additional 500MW earmarked for future development across these sites. The company broke ground on new facilities in Thailand and Singapore in recent months and entered the European market with a campus in Lahti, Finland, in August 2025.
